E-Cell members met Mr. Makkam Nagendra and got the input about various IT related queries.

Makam Nagendra is a Director & Co-Founder at Mentha Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Bengaluru. In this role he oversees the Business development, Product development and Marketing aspects of Mentha Technologies.

At Mentha the focus is on in-house products and services business in the Mobile and Cloud Technologies domain. Mentha has been in business for the last 4 years and we have delivered several projects for clients across the Globe.

Earlier at VeriSign, Bengaluru, Makam was instrumental in building a QA team and head the Innovation center. At VeriSign, Makam was focused on managing the test activities of the Naming products.

Prior to VeriSign, Makam worked in several product companies in the USA for over 20 years. His expertise is in the areas of Voice over IP, Telecom Call Processing and Advanced Intelligent Networks.

He has a Master’s in Computer Science, from the University of Missouri, and Master’s in Mechanical Engineering from Bradley University. His Bachelor’s degree was from BMS College of Engineering, Bangalore.

Workshop on Innovation Management & Intellectual Property Rights Spectrum: Significance for Academia, Venue: BNMIT, Bangalore, Date: 7th November, 2015

Opening Remarks about the programme was done by Dr. L. Vijayashree followed by              Smt. Prabhavathi Rao, Program Coordinator, WTO & IPR Relay Cell, Visvesvaraya Trade Promotion Centre Dept of Industries & Commerce, Govt of Karnataka. Session 1 was about Flavor to Innovation Management & Unleashing Creativity handled by          V Raghuram, Senior Advisor – IP & Technology Commercialization. IPL Summer Competition 2016

BNMIT Entrepreneurship Cell conducts Innovative Project Lab Competition twice in a year for BNMIT students in order to foster the spirit of entrepreneurship and to create innovative technical thinking among the students. The best projects from different engineering streams were selected for the final IPL summer competition held on April 22, 2016 at BNMIT. The Chief Guest and Judges for the Exhibition were Mr. D P K. Muthukumaraswamy, Innovation Leadership Consultant, Innomantra Consulting Pvt Ltd, Bangalore &                    Dr.S. Ramamurthy, Professor-IPR, Jain University, Bangalore. 22 Best Project Teams from various Engineering Streams of BNMIT were selected by their respective Departments to compete in the event. The Evaluation Criteria was based on Possibility of conversion of project in to product, high innovative ideas, Feasibility and Use to the society.
