Workshop on Innovation Management & Intellectual Property Rights Spectrum: Significance for Academia, Venue: BNMIT, Bangalore, Date: 7th November, 2015

Opening Remarks about the programme was done by Dr. L. Vijayashree followed by Smt.Prabhavathi Rao, Program Coordinator, WTO & IPR Relay Cell, Visvesvaraya Trade Promotion Centre Dept of Industries & Commerce, Govt of Karnataka. Session 1 was about Flavour to Innovation Management & Unleashing Creativity handled by V Raghuram, Senior Advisor – IP & Technology Commercialisation. Session 2 was about Overview of Intellectual Property Rights Spectrum : Significance for Academia in Business and  Research handled by Dr.S Rama Murthy Head – IPR, Centre for Emerging Technologies, Jain University, Bangalore. About 60 students of E Cell attended the workshop and gained the knowledge of IPR and its importance. Dignitaries with Dr. L. Innovative Project Lab Winter Competition -2015

BNMIT Entrepreneurship Cell conducts Innovative Project Lab Competition twice in a year for BNMIT students in order to foster the spirit of entrepreneurship. The Heads of  all  the Engineering departments  were asked to select the best projects from their respective Streams for exhibition in the IPL winter  Competition which was conducted recently at BNMIT. The Project Exhibition was graced by the presence of two eminent personalities. The Chief Guest for the competition was Mr. Venkata Raghavan, Joint Partner, Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan Company &            Mr. Sumeet Kurana, Director -Tax, Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan Company. 19 Best Project Teams from various Engineering Streams of BNMIT were selected by their respective Departments to compete in the event. The selected participants exhibited their project in the Exhibition. The Evaluation Criteria was based on Feasibility of the project, the Innovativeness of the Idea &Usefulness to the society. Rashmi Bansal who has touched the lives of many readers of all age groups particularly in India has become an inspiration and role model to many. She is known as “India’s No. 1 Entrepreneurial Author”. She is a writer and youth expert. Her book "Stay Hungry Stay Foolish” has got its title inspired by Steve Jobs.
