National Faculty Development Programme on Entrepreneurship organized by Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India held at BNMIT during 18th January to 30th January 2016.

Faculty from all over south India (Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andra, Telangana, and Kerala) participated in the 2 week faculty Development programme.
Topics Covered in the Training Programme are Steps in starting an Enterprise, Entrepreneurship Competencies, GETT Selecting tool and Self-rating questionnaire, Action Plan for fostering Entrepreneurship among Students, Games – Ring Toss, Team Building Activity, Implementation of EDP steps involves, Innovation in product development, Marketing, Financial support and Raw material assistance, Angel Investor talked about the angel investors and their ways of looking into a project and their expectations, Tower Building Game, IP Monetization and Business Plans. Trainers in the Programme were Mr. Raman Gujaral, South Regional In charge, EDII Mr. Yeshaswi, Program Director, EDII Dr. S. K. Prasad, HOD, Department of MBA, BNMIT Dr.L. Vijayashree, Prof & Chief Coordinator Ecell, BNMIT,  Mrs. Sowmya, a patent attorney, Mr. Naga- Angel Investor, Mrs. Gokila from NSIC.

IPL Summer Competition 2016

BNMIT Entrepreneurship Cell conducts Innovative Project Lab Competition twice in a year for BNMIT students in order to foster the spirit of entrepreneurship and to create innovative technical thinking among the students. The best projects from different engineering streams were selected for the final IPL summer competition held on April 22, 2016 at BNMIT. The Chief Guest and Judges for the Exhibition were Mr. D P K. Muthukumaraswamy, Innovation Leadership Consultant, Innomantra Consulting Pvt Ltd, Bangalore &                    Dr.S. Ramamurthy, Professor-IPR, Jain University, Bangalore. 22 Best Project Teams from various Engineering Streams of BNMIT were selected by their respective Departments to compete in the event. The Evaluation Criteria was based on Possibility of conversion of project in to product, high innovative ideas, Feasibility and Use to the society. Workshop on Innovation Management & Intellectual Property Rights Spectrum: Significance for Academia, Venue: BNMIT, Bangalore, Date: 7th November, 2015

Opening Remarks about the programme was done by Dr. L. Vijayashree followed by              Smt. Prabhavathi Rao, Program Coordinator, WTO & IPR Relay Cell, Visvesvaraya Trade Promotion Centre Dept of Industries & Commerce, Govt of Karnataka. Session 1 was about Flavor to Innovation Management & Unleashing Creativity handled by          V Raghuram, Senior Advisor – IP & Technology Commercialization. Session 2 was about Overview of Intellectual Property Rights Spectrum: Significance for Academia in Business and Research handled by Dr.S Rama Murthy Head – IPR, Centre for Emerging Technologies, Jain University, Bangalore.
